Nutritional Allergy in Dogs
What are dog food allergies or intolerance?
Food allergies are the result of the immune system being hypersensitive to certain ingredients in the diet. Food allergies are more severe than food intolerance's.
If your dog has food intolerance, this problem is not related to the immune system and may be due to the ingestion of a defective man or it may be due to an underlying illness or it may be that your dog lacks the enzymes needed to digest the food. When your dog eats something that has an allergic reaction, the body releases histamines, Itching, general skin rash, or digestive problems such as vomiting and diarrhea.
The only way to determine food allergies in your dog is to use an elimination product. The elimination product contains substances that are least likely to cause an allergic reaction and therefore helps you to determine whether the ingredients in the hay that your dog regularly consumes cause allergies. Your veterinarian will advise you to give your dog a food that does not contain allergen for a certain period of time. It is important that you fully comply with the instructions of your veterinarian, as it may lead to poor results if you give other products.
