How do I become a Navy SEAL?
To become a Naval SEAL you will have to meet certain qualification requirements to apply the SEAL training program and be chosen to start the training. Navy SEAL training consists of over 12 months of initial training, followed by another 18 months of specialized training in specific areas or a chosen area of specialization. The physical and mental endurance needed to become a Navy SEAL is significant, and the basic training consists of the more grueling physical and mental training that exists in the United States (US) armed services.
Navy SEALs are named for the environmental conditions they are trained to fight in: the sea, air and land. They enroll in a division of the Navy called Naval Special Warfare or Naval Special Operations. Created by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, the training needed to become a Navy SEAL has since become a high watermark to measure the limits in which the human body can be pushed.
To become a Naval SEAL, you must first meet some basic skills to apply even. You must be a man no more than 28 years old, an American citizen, and meet the physical and sight requirements as well as achieving scores high enough on Armed Services Professional Ability (ASVAB) Battery Reviews. Minimum requirements for physical screening also include the ability to swim 500 meters (more than 450 meters) within 12 minutes 30 seconds, 10 minutes rest, perform 42 push-ups within two minutes, two minutes rest, perform 50 sit -ups within two minutes, rest two minutes, perform six pulls without time limit, rest 10 minutes, then fill 1.5 miles (almost 2.5 km) to run within 11 minutes and 30 seconds. These are the minimum requirements just to be considered actually receive training to become a Navy SEAL.
If you are accepted into the Navy SEAL training, then you will have to complete the Demolition / SEAL or BUD / S submarine base, training. It consists of 24 weeks of exercise and rigorous training, starting with three weeks of orientation to prepare you for the next 21 weeks. The next seven weeks are used for fitness, at the fourth week of this training consisting of five and a half days of constant physical training with a maximum of four hours of total sleep during this time. After physical training, a seven-week program on combat dive is over, a training program of war on earth for seven weeks.
It is followed by a three-week parachute jump program that culminates in tests that require you to do night jumps, equipped combat, at a minimum altitude of 9500 feet (nearly three kilometers). After the BUD / S training, you will have to complete another 26 weeks of SEAL qualification training. This includes tactical learning, techniques and procedures (TTP) for Naval Special Warfare including the lessons of cold weather survival and close combat. If you complete this training, you will receive your Navy SEAL trident and can pass them to advanced training in areas such as doctor's specialization or officer training.
